Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 Spoilers! chapter 198: Releasing of the time capsule!

Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 Spoilers! chapter 198: Releasing of the time capsule!(C)Ken Wakui/Shueisha

Chapter 198 of Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 is about opening a time capsule after 12 years.

Twelve years ago, on the 15th of March 2006, the members of the Tokyo Manji gang went to Musashi Shrine to bury their memorabilia and letters in a time capsule, but they don’t remember what they put in it.

Mikey was the only one who didn’t show up on that day.

When they opened the time capsule, they found out what each of us had buried back then and the letter we had written to themselves.

By the way, here are the things that each person buried.

  • Chifuyu: A book about aeroplanes
  • Hakkai: A moon stone (fake)
  • Mitsuya: The first stuffed animal he ever made
  • Smiley: Perm solution
  • Peh-yan: Erotic book
  • Draken: A photo of the members of Tokyo Manji gang

And when each of them has taken out our things and letters from the time capsule and finished reading them, they will read Mikey’s letter, who has not been here.

Mikey didn’t show up that day after all, so in episode 199, Takemichi reads out Mikey’s letter from 12 years ago, which was in the time capsule.

It was addressed to Mikey himself 12 years later, and in the letter he had written his predictions about what the members of Tokyo Manji gang would look like 12 years from then.

  • Mitsuya Takashi is a fashionista.
  • Hakkai Shiba loves Mitsuya, so his job is close to him.
  • Pah-chin is taking over his father’s real estate agency.
  • Peh-Yan is Pah-chin’s assistant.
  • Smiley looks like he’s doing something dangerous.
  • Draken is a motorcyclist.
  • Chifuyu is doing something for Baji.

Mikey’s predictions have a psychic level of accuracy (except for Smiley’s), and as for Takemichi, “If you don’t make Hinata happy, I’ll kill you!“, he wrote.

And at the end of the letter

  • Everyone, go on a journey to find what you need to grow up.
  • I, too, will go on a journey to find what I need to grow up.
  • No matter how far apart we are, we are still connected.

When Takemichi read this letter, he thought that it might have been foolish to look for Mikey.

However, after everyone broke up, Takemichi noticed that there was another thing in the time capsule, which was the videotape that Mikey had left behind.

Chapter 200 begins with Takemichi playing the videotape that Mikey left in his time capsule.

This videotape is addressed by Mikey to Takemichi 12 years later, and it tells him an important truth other than what he wrote in his letter.

Here it is revealed that Mikey has “Dark Impusivity” that he cannot control. This is the same impulse that almost came out when he almost killed Kazutora in “Bloody Halloween”.

Up until now, Mikey has been able to suppress his “Dark Impusivity” because he has the following people by his side.

  • His brother, Shinichiro Sano
  • His sister Emma Sano
  • His best friend Keisuke Baji

However, now that all three are dead, there is no one left who can control Mikey’s “Dark Impusivity“.

The video letter ends with Mikey telling Takemichi to “stay away from me 12 years from now” and smilingly telling him to “be happy“.

After watching the video letter, Takemichi tried to forget about Mikey, but when he saw Hinata in her wedding dress and felt happy, he suddenly remembered Mikey.

Because “Mikey laughs more when he is in pain“.

Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 Spoilers! chapter 201: Takemichi meets Mikey again!

In chapter 201, Takemichi started to search for Mikey, and hits all the places that Kazutora has collected that he believed to be “Bonten’s hideout“.

However, none of these places yield any information about Bonten, and Takemichi found himself at a loss in an abandoned former bowling alley.

Just then, Haruchiyo Sanzu, Bonten’s number 2, appeared without a sound and puts a muzzle on Takemichi’s head.

The next moment, the sound of flats and sandals approaching behind Takemichi, and a familiar voice asked,

It’s the best future, isn’t it?
So, anything you wanna ask?

Finally, after 12 years, Takemichi is reunited with Mikey.

Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 Spoilers! chapter 202: Mikey shoots Takemichi!(C)Ken Wakui/Shueisha

Chapter 202 gets off to an inauspicious start when Hinata visited Takemichi’s room and as she tried to clean up the messy room, the chain on her necklace broke.

The scene changed to an abandoned bowling alley, where Takemichi was handing Mikey a wedding invitation.

Haruchiyo Sanzu was holding a gun to Takemichi’s head, but at this point Mikey told Sanzu to back off.

After Sanzu left, Takemichi asked Mikey about the “Dark Impulsivity” he mentioned in his video letter. Mikey didn’t answer, but Takemichi continued talking.

  • Even if Takemichi shake hands with Naoto, he can’t go back to the past.
  • The world they live in now is only possible because Mikey protected us all.
  • So now he’s going to save Mikey.

Just as he was saying this, there was a dull roar in the abandoned bowling alley.

Takemichi didn’t understand what it was, but it was the sound of Mikey shooting Takemichi in the chest with his gun.

Mikey then fired another shot into Takemichi’s left chest, and then another into his stomach.

In chapter 203, Mikey said to Takemichi, who is clearly mortally wounded, “I didn’t wanna meet, because things would end up like this.” and “Your long journey ends here.” and leaves.

But Takemichi continued to bleed profusely, muttering “I’ll save you no matter what.“.

Mikey then went to the roof of the abandoned bowling alley and remembered everyone as he looks down from the edge of the roof.

He thought of Shinichiro Sano, Emma Sano, Draken and the members of Tokyo Manji gang, and smileed at them all.

Everyone, let’s do this!!

and jumped off the roof.

But as he falls, a dying Takemichi grabbed Mikey’s hand and rescued him.

Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 Spoilers! chapter 204: The shocking final Arc begins!

Chapter 204 opens with Takemichi holding onto Mikey’s hand on the upper floor of an abandoned bowling alley.

Takemichi, who had been shot three times, including in the left chest, could have died the next moment, but he still told Mikey to “grab my hand” and “I’ll save you“.

But Mikey didn’t want to be saved at all and told Takemichi to “Please put me in peace.“.

At this point Takemichi shouted “Shut up!” and said to Mikey,

Oi, Manjiro!
Just say it once, just say “please help me” damn it!

Takemichi knew that Mikey laughs when he is in pain and only shows his strength in front of others.

And Mikey, with tears streaming down his face, said for the first time, “Please help me, Take-mitchy.” he said, speaking his true feelings.

At that moment, Takemichi’s hand seemed to shake Mikey’s hand, and this is when the time leap happens.

When Takemichi woke up, it’s June 2008, more than two years after the “Kanto Incident” and ten years before the future.

By the way, the main story of volume 23 of the manga ends at chapter 204, and chapters 205 and 206 are extra stories.

Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 Spoilers! chapter 205: An extra chapter with Shuji Hanma and Tetta Kisaki!

Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 Spoilers! chapter 205: An extra chapter with Shuji Hanma and Tetta Kisaki!(C)Ken Wakui/Shueisha

Chapter 205 of Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 is an extra chapter, which describes the encounter between Shuji Hanma and Tetta Kisaki.

Before Shuji met Kisaki, he was famous as “The God of Death“. One day, Nobutaka Osanai, the president of “Moebius”, took him to meet Kisaki for the first time.

Shuji Hanma liked Kisaki at first sight, and he saw at once that he was different from other delinquents.

Since that encounter, Kisaki has been manipulating the fights and battles from behind the scenes.

  • He incited Kiyomasa to stab Draken.
  • He incited Pah-chin to stab Osanai.
  • He incited Peh-yan to attack Draken.
  • He contacted Kazutora to kill Keisuke Baji.
  • He gave Yuzuha Shiba a knife and made her stab Taiju Shiba.

Shuji Hanma really enjoyed watching Kisaki’s actions and sometimes helped him along the way.

Also, when Kisaki went to kill Emma Sano with his own hands, he explained the reason why he had to get his hands dirty.

  • “I’m desperate too.”
  • “I can’t be the main character. I’m just a clown.”
  • “But I won’t stop me from getting what I want.”

he said. This is one of the rare scenes in Tokyo Revengers where Kisaki expressed his true feelings.

After the “Kanto Incident”, when Shuji Hanma saw the scene where Kisaki was run over by a truck and died, he showed big tears for the first time in the story.

Kesaki said to Shuji Hanma “You ‘re just a pawn to use. When one of my tool get broken, I replace it.”.

So Kisaki used Shuji Hanma’s power and Shuji hanma wanted to see something interesting.

However, from the scene of Shuji Hanma’s tears, it seems that there was a bond between the two that cannot be put away as “just two bad guys”.

Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 Spoilers! chapter 206: An extra chapter with Mucho and Haruchiyo Sanzu!

Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 Spoilers! chapter 206: An extra chapter with Mucho and Haruchiyo Sanzu!(C)Ken Wakui/Shueisha

Chapter 206 of Tokyo Revengers Volume 23 is also an extra episode, and it shows the encounter between Yasuhiro Muto, aka Mucho, and Haruchiyo Sanzu.

Sanzu had always been a troubled child and the rest of the division couldn’t take care of him, so Mikey left him in the care of Mucho, the captain of 5th division.

Even after Mucho took care of him, he still caused a lot of problems and was still a troubled child, but through the corporal’s special duty of spying on the inner circle, he gradually gained Mucho’s trust.

One day, when Mucho and Sanzu were playing shogi, Sanzu showed him a defensive move.

From this description, Sanzu’s value system that “the king (Mikey) is more important than anything else” was revealed.

And just before the “Kanto Incident”, when Mucho left Tokyo Manji gang and moved to Tenjiku, Sanzu also followed Mucho. Up to this point, we can see how loyal Sanzu is to Mucho.

After the end of the Kanto Incident, Mucho was arrested and released from the Tokyo Detention Centre six months later. He met by Sanzu, who took him to his car.

It was been a long time since he was been out to eat, but he brought Mucho to Pier 3, the site of the decisive battle of the Kanto Incident. This place is not popular at all because it was used for the war.

Suddenly, Chiya Sanzuharu took a Japanese sword and slashed Mucho.

When he played shogi with Mucho in the past, he had said that “the king (Mikey) is more important than anything else“, which means that he had never forgiven Mucho for betraying Tokyo Manji gang and going to Tenjiku, and had always planned to kill him.

And Sanzu slashed Mucho once more, and Mucho died here.

It was a shocking end to Mucho’s life, and it also showed how much of a mad dog Sanzu was.
