[Tokyo Revengers] What is the purpose of Tetta Kisaki? And what does “my hero” mean?

[Tokyo Revengers] What is the purpose of Tetta Kisaki? And what does (C)Ken Wakui/Shueisha

The purpose of Tetta Kisaki, a junior high school student who is even willing to kill people, is to get Hinata.

Kisaki is the mastermind behind the Tokyo Revengers, and he is the reason why Takemichi’s future has always been bad even if he altered the past through a time leap from the beginning of the story.

All fans of Tokyo Revengers wondered what kind of dark purpose or ambition he had behind it, but it was a love affair.

So let’s take a closer look at the purpose of Tetta Kisaki.

Tetta Kisaki’s goal is to get Hinata

Tetta Kisaki's goal is to get Hinata(C)Ken Wakui/Shueisha

In the 183rd chapter of the 21st volume of the manga, the reason and purpose of all the evil deeds that Kisaki has done up to this point is told, and as mentioned above, it is “to get Hina“.

If you only listen to the purpose, it’s age-appropriate, but it’s annoying because he killed Keisuke Baji, Emma Sano, and countless people in the future for it.

However, Kisaki is not a delinquent by nature, he is a child prodigy who always takes first place in the national examinations and studies hard.

But in order to get Hina, he became a delinquent and even killed a man. What does this have to do with getting Hinata?

Let’s take a look at how Kisaki is out of control because he is too good at studying.

To achieve his goal, he aims to become the top delinquents in Japan!

When he was in primary schools, he went to the same cram school as Hinata, and he liked her from then on.

And he himself thought “Hinata must like me too”. But one day, Takemichi appeared suddenly and took away Hina’s heart. (By the way, Hinata doesn’t think anything of Kisaki. Just in case.)

As Tetta Kisaki followed Takemichi and investigated his life, he found out that Takemichi’s goal is “to become the top of delinquents (hero) in Japan“.

Hearing this, Tetta Kisaki developed the following thought in his mind.

  • Hinata likes Takemichi.
  • Takemichi wants to become “the top of delinquents in Japan”.
  • Then, if he becomes “the top of delinquents in Japan”, Hinata will love him.

This is the event which made Kisaki to run into the path of a delinquent, though it is a extremely leaky logical development.

To achieve his goal, he aims to become the best delinquent in Japan.

When Kisaki learns of Manjiro Sano (Mikey), he plans to use his charisma to make himself “the top delinquents in Japan”.

The idea to become a delinquent was just stupid, but the plan to achieve it is perfect and takes a decade to complete.

  • One year to gain Mikey’s trust.
  • Two years to gain Mikey’s control.
  • Three years to control Tokyo.
  • Four years to control Japan.

I’m tempted to tell him to get his head out of his ass and do something else.

Tetta Kisaki achieves his goal, but is rejected by Hinata.

Until Takemichi changes the past, in the future, Kisaki is the actual boss of Tokyo Manji gang and has achieved his goal of becoming the so-called “the top delinquents in Japan”.

If we follow the logic of Kisaki, Hinata will like him if he becomes the top delinquents in Japan.

And then, Kisaki proposed to Hinata with great enthusiasm, but Hinata rejected him instantly.

This is the reason why Kisaki killed Hinata every time in the future, because of his delusional feeling that he would rather kill her than give her to someone else.

It’s a bit pathetic that after 10 years of working his way up to the top of Japan’s underworld, he thinks he’s perfect and confidently tells her off, only to be rejected.

The meaning of “My hero”

The meaning of Kisaki's word (C)Ken Wakui/Shueisha

In the 73rd and 74th chapters of the 9th volume of the manga, the future Tetta Kisaki cries to Takemichi and says

So long.
My hero.

There is a scene that he tries to kill him.

For Tetta Kisaki, Takemichi was a hindrance to his love life, but at the same time, he was a delinquent (=hero) that Hinata fell in love with.

This is a great scene where Kisaki overflows his emotions of more than 10 years.

[Tokyo Revengers] How Tetta Kisaki achieves his goal? To get Hinata, he kills so many people!

So far, we’ve explained that Kisaki’s goal is to get Hinata.

Let’s take a look at what Kisaki has actually done to achieve that goal, one misdeed at a time.

Incites Pah-chin to stab Nobutaka Osanai.

In the 16th chapter of the 3rd volume of the manga, the war with Moebius ends, and Mikey beats up Nobutaka Osanai who is the chief of Moebius, and Tokyo Manji gang wins.

Afterwards, Osanai came to kill Mikey with a weapon, and Draken seized him, but Pah-chin stabbed him.

Pah-chin wanted to kill Osanai because his best friend was lynched by the members of Moebius, and his best friend’s girlfriend and family were also affected.

In fact, Kisaki had contacted Pah-chin beforehand, and manipulated him into stabbing Osanai by encouraging his desire to kill.

In this way, he caused a rift within Tokyo Manji gang, and it was his goal to cause internal strife and ultimately kill Draken.

The Tokyo Manji gang was divided into the “Mikey faction” and the “Draken faction” over the treatment of Pah-chin.

And was on the verge of internal strife, but Takemichi admonished Mikey and Draken for fighting, and internal strife was avoided.

However, Tetta Kisaki made the next move.

  • He would fire up Payan and make him attack Draken.
  • At the same time, he sent out the remnants of Moebius to start a war.
  • He fires up Kiyomasa and makes him kill Draken.

Kiyomasa was the one who used Takemichi and his friends as slaves in the “underground fighting”, and Mikey and Draken put an end it.

Kiyomasa has a grudge against him, and Kisaki uses this feeling to incite him.

Draken was stabbed as Kisaki wanted, but he survived the operation and Kisaki’s plan to kill Draken was foiled.

Originally, the plan was to kill Draken and let Kisaki take the vacant position of vice pesident of Tokyo Manji gang, but this plan went wrong and the plan was changed.

Become the captain of 3rd division of Tokyo Manji gang.

In the 37th chapter of the 5th volume of the manga, Kisaki became the captain of 3rd division after Pah-chin left.

This allows him to do all sorts of dark things from within Tokyo Manji gang, and from here he is able to control the problems with Valhalla and Black Dragon from behind the scenes.

No matter how many times Takemichi destroys his plans, he always has a second or third move, and that’s the scary thing about Kisaki.

Incites Kazutora to stab Baji.

Later there was a war between Tokyo Manji gang and Valhalla called “Bloody Halloween“, but behind the scenes, Kisaki was also pulling the strings.

Tetta Kisaki is planning to use the “Bloody Halloween” to do the following.

  • Get Kazutora to kill Keisuke Baji.
  • Make Mikey lose his temper and kill Kazutora.
  • Avoid arrest by taking Mikey’s place
  • Manipulate Mikey to take control of Tokyo Manji gang.

In the end, things went according to Kisaki’s plan up to the point where he had Kazutora stab Baji, but after that, Baji committed suicide, and Takemichi stopped Mikey, so Mikey avoided killing Kazutora.

This again prevents Kisaki from achieving his goal.

Incites Yuzuha Shiba to stab Taiju Shiba.

Kisaki’s schemes don’t stop and next he manipulates Yuzuha in the battle of Christmas.

The plan of Tetta Kisaki here is as follows.

  • Incite Yuzuha to kill Taiju Shiba.
  • Hakkai will protect Yuzuha & become the new president of Black Dragon
  • Kisaki, who knows everything behind, will manipulate Hakkai.
  • Tokyo Manji gang and Black Dragon merged.
  • Kisaki took control of them.

However, in reality, Yuzuha failed to kill Taiju due to Takemichi’s intervention, and the Black Dragon was dismantled, so Kisaki’s plan failed.

In addition, he was expelled from Tokyo Manji gang because it came to light that he had encouraged Yuzuha and betrayed Chifuyu.

Installs Izana Kurokawa as his new king.

After being fired from Tokyo Manji gang, Kisaki contacts Izana Kurokawa, the president of Tenjiku, in order to make him his next weapon.

However, he didn’t give up the idea of controlling Mikey, and he wanted to achieve it by using Izana and Tenjiku.

In order to become the top delinquents in Japan and to get Hinata, Kisaki became more and more unstoppable and took the worst possible action to achieve his ultimate goal.

Hit Emma to death.

Kisaki hit Emma to death.(C)Ken Wakui/Shueisha

In the 147th chapter of the 17th volume of the manga, Kisaki beat Emma to death himself.

This time, Kisaki’s plan is as follows.

  • To incite Izana Kurokawa of Tenjiku to fight with Tokyo Manji gang.
  • Kill Emma and turn Mikey into a shell.
  • Tenjiku will merge with Tokyo Manji gang after a bruising war
  • Kisaki took control them.

Of these, “killing Emma” is the most important for Kisaki, as it will turn Mikey into a shell and be the key to controlling him from behind the scenes.

That’s why he made sure to kill Emma by getting his hands dirty. As a result, Mikey becomes a shell, just like Kisaki wanted.

However, the combination of “Takemichi’s perseverance in the battle against Tenjiku” and “Hinata telling Mikey about Takemichi’s true identity” revived Mikey.

In the end, Kisaki kills Izana Kurokawa accidentally with his own hands, and the plan ends in disaster.

Kizaki’s plan is crushed by Takemichi, and Tenjiku is completely defeated, so he has no more cards in his hand.

However, he never gives up and continues to run away in order to achieve his ultimate goal of getting Hinata.

In the end, Tetta Kisaki was hit by a truck and killed while running away from Takemichi.

In this way, Takemichi’s long battle with Kisaki ends and he avoids the worst future.
